Festival Karma Yoga 19/01/2010
![]() 2010 is flowing strong. After sharing the coming of 2010 with beautiful friends and a dance to some local dj's it was time to start the year off with some Karma Yoga at the Starlight Well-being festival, as a volunteer we made our services available from sweeping and cleaning up at the end of the day, helping out on the door with new people arriving and during the Healathon where i gave free 15 minuets of Reiki and Pranic healings and in return we were blessed with a voucher to use during the festival for anything of our choice. The variety of practitioners and workshops happening was beautiful, especially the Aboriginal Dreamtime Healing workshop, very moving and informative. Then as one week merged into another i find myself being asked to perform at the Big Day Out music festival with my previous dance teacher. So with a caotic week making costumes and shopping for last minuet supplies and 3 days of rehearsals we did it! 3x 30minuet slots and 6 different costumes we rocked the Lilly world stage, our costumes included a colourful mexican outfit, a red sensual sassy salsa number and a sparkly sexy cow girl outfit. The Big Day Out festival travels around Australia to most cities but we only performed at the Gold Coast festival. With my energy and focus being pulled in many directions teaching regular Yoga classes has not happened yet but I am teaching a Partner Yoga workshop on Valentines day, my intention is to introduce people into Bhakti, the devotional aspect of Yoga through touch and joy, i hope you can join me. ![]() Stepping out of the plane back onto main land Asia i felt the fresh humidity of the Philippines melt away and it was replaced with the heavy weight of Singapore's heat. With a few days before flying to Australia we were in preparation mode for a hot christmas (the first one in about 6 years!) looking forward to the big open wide spaces, a clean ocean, white sandy beaches and most of all mangoes! I find myself mentally preparing to see familiar places with different eyes. After being away for so long i find myself getting use to different customs and languages and now its time to land back in a place which saw me learn and grow over the years - Byron Bay, Australia. A beautiful area full of prana shakti and nourishment for the soul on all levels. Visiting the waterfalls, the forests and the beaches, re connecting with the familiar energy of this place which welcomed me home with big waves and delicious mangoes! We were blessed with a Xmas by the beach under the shade of trees with 3-4 other families eating amazing food and walking around the headlands, the most easterly point of Australia, this place is like no other i have been to in my travels. I found myself walking on the softest sand and comparing it to the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean which is more grainy. The locals have changed, so new smiling faces walk the streets and i find myself being great-full for being here again. 2010 was welcomed in with friends, laughter and even a dance in the hills, washing away the old with a refreshing swim early in the morning on the 1st. Time to dive deep into this land, drink deep and cherish every moment. | DelamayA journey with the rhythm of Yoga and Dance.. ArchivesFebruary 2012 Categories |
