Hundred Islands in one day 22/12/2009
![]() With one night in Malaysia before flying to the Philippines it gave time for intergration even more into the asian flow of life. On the outside it looks chaotic but it all works without the western aggressiveness. Everyday feels like a ritual, cherishing the blessing that life has given to us every moment. The Philippines was a true example of simplicity, the children playing outside with each other, no tv’s, X boxes or modern day gadgets to numb the growing minds. During our stay here the physical practice of yoga on the mat was minimal but the practice of accepting what is and observing the innocence of simplicity was high. Energised each morning with a walk on the beach and in the evening wynding down with the sun as it disappears. Families here are tight, they work as one and stay and support each other throughout life. The few days spent at the hundred islands were truly spectacular. We hired a boat for the day and entered the magical lands of the national park. Around each bend a new sight of nature appeared organically formed and shaped by the wind and erosion was another island, some were big enough to spend a few hours on exploring and swimming in the aqua blue ocean and others too so small its only big enough for one bird to perch on while in the search for food. Leaving this place I knew that if/ when we come back it will be different, development is happening everywhere especially after typhoons coming through here at least once a year. Change is the only constant in this life, so as the scenery changes and as we move around from place to place either on a bus, train, jeepney or plane I breath in trust and exhale that which does not serve me on my journey.
